TOOTH EXTRACTIONS

Can I go straight to an oral surgeon?

The first step is to have a comprehensive oral exam to determine your exact condition. If your dental assessment shows that you need an extraction, then you can go to an oral surgeon.

THE TOOTH EXTRACTION PROCEDURE

Will I be awake during my tooth extraction?

I had a crown prep today which was the first procedure other than cleaning that I have had done in this office. It went very well. I do not take Novocain and the procedure was painless. This is my 9th crown and I have never had the temporary fit so well. Dr. Aten and Katrina, her dental assistant, were a great team. I highly recommend Dr. Aten. the whole office staff is wonderful.

I have been seeing Dr Aten for about 25 years now. This is even though it is a long drive from Concord to the Toringdon area. If I could give Dr. Garofalo and his entire staff 10 stars, I would! Jill is absolutely AMAZING, so compassionate and kind! Dr. Garofalo is so incredibly patient and explains everything as he goes! I am very fearful of getting any kind of numbing and am a fainter, so Jill and Dr. Garofalo talked me all the way through it since I was getting a crown. This is one incredible place! First is the upbeat friendly and smiling staff followed by the professionalism of each person with whom I had contact. No one was in a super hurry to get me in and out. Another great visit to Aten and Garofalo today. Their team is always ready, and even more so with the COVID-19 situation. I was not worried about their team being ready to deal with COVID-19. I have been going to Dr. Aten for 15 years. Dr. Aten and Dr. Garofalo run their practice on the Ritz Carlton Service Model. Everyone from the front desk to the to the Dental Hygienists are always in a good mood. Dr. Garofalo continues to be a great dentist. I needed a chipped front tooth repaired, I was in the very next morning and had a perfect repaired tooth in less than an hour. Great “bed side” manor, always something new like learning he’s picked up photography and having a real discussion. Often times the small talk is painfully routine but he and his staff, it’s like family every time. Count yourself luckyif they are accepting new patients.

You know those places where you love the healthcare provider but hate the staff? Well, this is NOT that place! The staff are so friendly, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. This is by far the BEST Dental office I have EVER been to in my ENTIRE life. The staff is AMAZING and Dr.Garofalo is UNBELIEVABLE! His knowledge, personality, and compassion for his job leaves me speechless. I am so thankful that my co-worker sent me to this practice. Have been to 3 dentists now in Charlotte since I moved here 2 years ago and they are by far the best in patient care, presentation, and expertise. I am glad my endodontist referred me to this place. I now have a dentist I am proud to keep.

Dr. Aten, along with her entire staff, provide an experience that most individuals would not expect from a dental visit. They are kind, courteous, and make you feel more like family than a patient. This type of treatment, along with the excellent dental care they provide, makes Aten Family and Cosmetic Dentistry a truly unique place. Highly recommended!!
